FAA-Recognized Identification Area

Rainbow RC Airpark is an FAA-Recognized Identification Area, commonly called a FRIA.

A FRIA allows eligible model aircraft to be flown without Remote ID equipment. When operating without Remote ID:

• The pilot and aircraft must remain within the approved FRIA boundaries.
• The aircraft must remain within visual line of sight.
• All FAA, AMA, and club safety requirements still apply.

Aircraft equipped with Standard Remote ID or a Remote ID broadcast module must continue broadcasting while flying within the FRIA.

Separate from our FRIA designation, Rainbow RC Airpark is authorized for eligible recreational operations up to:

The AMA National Class G Authorization List identifies Tri-County R/C Club at Rainbow RC Airpark with a 700-foot limit.

Pilots must remain within the approved flying area, maintain visual line of sight, give way to all crewed aircraft, and follow FAA, AMA, and club rules.

Night flying is not permitted at Rainbow RC Airpark.
